About me
I am a psychodynamic counsellor registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to the professional standards and ethical codes set by both organisations.
I offer counselling to adults, children, and young people in a quiet, central part of Wells, Somerset. My wide range of life experiences prior to becoming a therapist has deepened my appreciation for the diversity of human experience. I welcome individuals from all cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, and I approach each person as unique.
Qualifications & Training
PhD (Doctor of Philosophy).
BSc in Social Work.
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (BPC and BACP accredited).
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling – Children & Young People (BPC kitemarked).
Narrative Therapy – Level 1.
Dyadic Developmental Practice and Psychotherapy – Levels 1 & 2.
Mindfulness UK Teacher Training: Integrating Mindfulness and Compassion.
My Social Work Role
Alongside my private practice, I work as a therapeutic social worker within a specialist team supporting children and young people with complex emotional and mental health needs. I am registered with Social Work England and have many years of experience in both statutory and therapeutic roles. I am a paid member of GAPS, the Group for the Advancement of Psychodynamics and Psychotherapy in Social Work.
I have supported individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including:
